Data consolidation with the Cyberphiz platform¶
Industrial facilities generate heterogeneous telemetry streams that operate under fundamentally different data models. Process historians, such as OSIsoft PI, Aveva Historian, and Honeywell PHD, record time-series sensor readings using proprietary tag schemas that can list hundreds of thousands of variables. OT network capture systems generate PCAP streams or parsed protocol records in formats specific to each industrial communication protocol, such as Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, PROFINET, and OPC-UA.
Safety Instrumented System logs record discrete state transitions (trip events, bypass activations, proof test completions) in formats proprietary to each SIS vendor (Emerson DeltaV SIS, Rockwell Guardmaster, ABB System 800xA). Maintenance management systems record work orders and inspection findings in structured databases that are typically airgapped from the OT network. Environmental monitoring systems record weather station readings, seismic sensors, and flood gauges in formats specific to each sensor vendor.
Cyberphiz's data management system leverages the capabilities of the semantic layer to map all of these sources to a common representation: each record consists of a timestamp, a source entity identifier (resolved against the asset graph), a signal type (drawn from a controlled vocabulary of signal types—process variable, network event, safety system state, maintenance record, environmental reading), a value payload (which may be a scalar, a vector, a categorical state, or a structured document), and a provenance record that encodes the raw source format, the ingestion pipeline instance, and any transformation applied during normalization.
